After a convincing opening day win against the Royals, the Tigers have cooled off. A 3-4 record is not too good, but the Tigs have been in all of these games. The bullpen has been a problem, with Urbina getting rocked. However there are a couple of bright spots, Jason Johnson threw 6 innings with an E.RA of 0.00. Carlos Pena has developed an amazing eye, and leads MLB in walks. Dimitri Young won A.L player of the week. He hit 3 homeruns on opening day, and his hitting has cooled much since then. Pudge, Inge, and Guillen have also been very solid.
Hopefully the Tigers can pull off a couple of wins against the Twins here, then get back on winning track. Hitting has been lights out, but pitching needs to be improved if this team wants to have a chance.

Dombrowski knew the bullpen would be a problem: that's why he traded for Farsnworth late in Spring Training.
Urbina ... I watched him pitch for the Sox for parts of 2 seasons. Filthy stuff, frustrating control, frustrating mental makeup. When he doesn't have his A game, he broadcasts it to the world. Doesn't want to pitch, doesn't want to be on the mound at all. Takes long breaks between pitches, steps off the rubber, anything not to throw the ball. He's maddening to watch sometimes, but he's a talented SOB, no mistake.
whats up with Pena?
You guys git tanked by the Sox today--Detroit sux!!!
