Tigers pitching a liability

After a convincing opening day win against the Royals, the Tigers have cooled off. A 3-4 record is not too good, but the Tigs have been in all of these games. The bullpen has been a problem, with Urbina getting rocked. However there are a couple of bright spots, Jason Johnson threw 6 innings with an E.RA of 0.00. Carlos Pena has developed an amazing eye, and leads MLB in walks. Dimitri Young won A.L player of the week. He hit 3 homeruns on opening day, and his hitting has cooled much since then. Pudge, Inge, and Guillen have also been very solid.

Hopefully the Tigers can pull off a couple of wins against the Twins here, then get back on winning track. Hitting has been lights out, but pitching needs to be improved if this team wants to have a chance.

East Lansing Police are to blame

From three differend sorces, I hear the police are to blame for the riots of 2005. From my sorces walking home from watching the Spartans lose in the Final Four to a great North Carolina team, police started shootinng tear gas into a crowd of people. Soon after, students got upset and started to riot, like a bunch of little kids. I am not saying it is all the polices' fault but they are to blame for part of it. MSU had a bad rap before the newest riots and I wonder what will come of it in the next few weeks. I am ashamed of my school. I was a senior in HS in 1999 when we had our last real riots, small one i believe in 2003 while I was in Europe but the problem started in 1998 and continued into 1999. I am ahamed right now to be a Spartan. We got farther then we were suppost to go and lost to a better team. Why do we have to go and cause trouble because of it. It is just stupid. I hope they catch people in the act of causing harm or doing anything ilegal and supsend, sick those studends out of MSU. We dont want those people representing our school. We are better then that and know better then that. What is happening is not called for. Police, school officals and students all had a part in this. Brining back past events like the previous riots is not a good idea. It just causes tention between schhool, law enforcement and students and students get the brunt of it all. That is not fair either. It is not all the students fault, but as students they should know what is right and what is wrong is certain situations. We are the future and and we should act as adults and not a bunch of wild animals. I normally do not side with the po po but I hope they find out who did what and arest and kick these people out of Michigan State University. We had a great season and it is sad for it to come to an end. Looking forward to another good season next year. I just hope we can learn from our mistakes both in the basketball and what happend after. Go Green, Go White, Let's Go State!!!

Final Four

Well the Final Four is finally apon us. UNC and Illionios were the easy picks to make it to the Final Four. Louisville was an easier pick then MSU to make it to the final two games. I would never have guessed MSU would have finally gotten their act together and start to show promise this late in the season. Yes, they had 20+ wins in the regular season, but were not looking good toward the end. They have looked really good taking down Duke and Kentucky the past two games.

1. Illionios over 4. Louisville: I would much rather see the Cardinals in the
finals then Illionios, but Illionios is a great team. Look at what they did last week against Arizona. I turned off the game, because I thought Arizona had the game won with 4 minutes to play. Louisville has what it takes to win, and could if Illionios does not make their 3's. I will be a fun game to watch either way. Illionios 76 Louisville 72. It will be a late comeback and win for Illionios.

5. MSU over 1. UNC: This has the makings to be a great game. Two fast past teams are going to do battle tonight. UNC has the ability to score at will, but MSU has the ability to wear teams down with great defense. I dont think this will be as high scoring as some of you might think. Sean May will get his points, but he might have to earn them the hard way. MSU will put a few different people on him, so they can try to wear him down. I think he will get his 20 points but he will sure have to work for it. Both teams have a lot of weapons, but UNC has a so called 5 NBA future draft picks. MSU is playing at the top of their game right now and will continue that tonight and walk away with the win. MSU 88 UNC 83

Preview: Detroit Tigers

The dawning of yet another Tiger season is coming. The A.L central is getting stronger. The young players growing into stars. Hopefully this will be the case for Tigers opening day starter Jeremy Bonderman. No more waiting, this is his year to prove himself. The Tigers can't afford any injuries, especially to Maggs. Percival is going to have to be a dominant closer, unlike Urbina last year. Carlos Guillen cannot drop his game at all, last year cannot just be a fluke. And Pudge is going to need to NOT GET HURT, and be stable for this team. The Tigers need to score a lot of runs to make up for their pitching problems. If everything I said happens, this team will finish second in the A.L Central. The Twins will be too strong, and consistent. The Indians are not ready. And the White Sox have a lot of holes. Leave some comments.
