Dombrowski holds ground, no trades.

There was much talk of a move, for the Tigers today. Urbina to the Giants, was the most hyped. Never went down though. Reports outside of San Fran, said the Tigers were high balling, wanting to much. I am proud to have a general manager like Dombrowski, he won't give in. With the Tigers staying the same, we are not buyers or sellers. The Yankees, however were very unseccsesfull this deadline, there stupid moves are finally paying off. Dodgers are big winners, with acquiring Finley, and Penney, I think the biggest winners today, the Marlins are close however. So this year, the deadline, was hyped, not hyped, hyped, then not hyped by the media. I think it was a good day today, the Tigers will never, ever give in.

Heartbreaking loss

Saturday night in Chicago,  the Tigers were determined to even the series at one, going into the rubber game. Johnson was on the mound, his Era has improved over his past 5 starts, and so has his play.  Johnson had a No hitter going into the 5th, and the score was 4-0, everything was looking good. As for how the Tigers got these 4 runs, Thames homered, and so did pudge, Guillen, and Inge launched a 2 run blast.  Could this last? lets just say inning 6, 7, 8 never happened and jump to the 9th. Top of the 9th inning, Inge singles, Logan bunts him over, ground out, then pop out, no damage done.  Bottom of the 9th, Tigers put Urbina on the mound, I was already worried.  1 out, Crede up to the plate, Urbina had already thrown to fast balls in a row, he throws another, Crede belts it deep, going going gone. Fireworks start as the Sox celebrate there win.

Another blown save for Urbina, I would give him one more chance, or he's gone. Just a very, very heart breaking loss. I just want the Tigers to salvage a game. please.

Notes: I was watching WGN Chicago, and the play by play was horrible, whe Inge belted a homer, the play by play guy did'int say anything at all, however he did talk alot about the White Sox, when they homered.

Tigers fall, in day game

In a very important home game, the Tigers lose, 13-7.  Garry Knotts struggled, allowing 7 runs, in 4 inings pitched. Nook Logan's 2nd MLB start, was rather nice, 3 hits, a double, and an Rbi. Infante pounded 2 homers, his 8th, and 9th of the year.  But Mike Sweeney lifted the Royals with a grand slam, and 7 rbi's to win todays game.  This game was an ugly game, with horrible pitching. The Tigers homestand is now not considered a successfull one.

Tommorows game: Tigers travel to Chicago, to take on the White Sox.  Pitching matchups: Loaiza for the sox, and Robertson for the Tigers.  Robertson has been great this year, and has been one of the best in K's this year. Loaiza, has not lived up to his stats last year, but has good numbers still.  Watch Eric Munson of the Tigers, he has hit well against Loazia, and watch Konerko of the White Sox, he is 2for2 against Robertson. This series will mean alot to both teams, a nice division match up.

Notes: Rasheed Wallace resigned with the Pistons today, more to come from my friend Alex.

Trammel makes risky choices

Last night the Tigers took on there division rival, the Twins.  After the first inning, evreything looked good, the Tigers had scored 2 runs.  Later the Twins got back in it with a solo by Shannon Stewart.  Evreything looked fine in the 7th inning when Yan struck out the side, and after Jamie Walker in the 8th held off a run to keep it tied. In the 9th, Trammel put in Urbina, Urbina has been great at times, but not a reliable closer in my opinion, not the kind of guy who is scary to face in the 9th inning, but gets the job done. Well, Urbina got the job done in 9th inning, stranding a runner on second. It looked the Tigers had a good chance to pull it off in the bottom of 9th inning with some heavy hitters coming up. They could'int pull it off, also stranding a runner on second. Off to extra innings! I was suprised when the 10nth inning started, and Urbina was still out there, I figured they would pull him if a runner reached base. Well, I went and got a snack, and when I came back I saw a man on first, and second only 1 out, 3-2 count on the batter. I was definetely wondering why they hav'ent pulled Urbina by now, there was a pitcher warming up, it was Craig Dingman, a long reliever. So, it was 3-2, this pitch means alot, a whole lot. Ball, high and outside, the bases are loaded. Trammel finally comes out to the mound, and so does the rest of the infield, they keep talking, and I'm saying to myself come on Tram, just take the ball from his hand. To my shock Tram, and the infield start to leave the mound, and Urbina is still pitching! Trammel must have lots of faith in this guy.  Tram definetely made the wrong move, a very risky move. Sac fly, and the Twins take the lead 5-4, we go into the Tigers 10nth, they cannot come back. Twins win 5-4. A very, very bad desicion by Trammel.  No reason for this type of error.

Notes: after the game, I was watching Baseball tonight, and heard Urbina of the Tigers, is being shopped around. More news to come later.
