The Detroit Pistons are looking for a good bench by getting Carlos Arroyo, a guard acquired from the Utah Jazz for Elden Campbell and a first round draft pick. Arroyo made his debut against Chicago last Saturday. playing 17 minutes, Arroyo had 5 point and 5 assists including a beautiful no look feed to Mcdyess. however Lindsey hunter took a big hit in playing time playing only 7 minutes. Darko Milicic is wanting a trade out of Detroit where he thinks he'll get more playing time. news flash darko YOU SUCK you wouldn't get much playing time anywhere, and complaining is just going to make you have less in Detroit. Darko got mad after the Arroyo trade because he thought it would minimize his playing time. Elden Campbell's gone after the trade a couple weeks after dropping Derrick Coleman. does he not realize he might get a decent amount because of the trade. The pistons trade to get arroyo was a smart trade because he can play, and he proved that in the Olympics by almost single handedly beating USA, with all the great players on the USA team, arroyo by far the best on Puerto Rico beats USA obviously he can play ball. the pistons trade to get Arroyo is what a championship team would do, i think there ready for a repeat.

Darko comes from a pro system where he, as a teenager, played 15-20 minutes per game. He's eager and feels to improve at the NBA level he must have more playing time. As long as the team keeps him in check, and he keeps practicing well, he'll be fine. Any eager player would yap.
You say Darko sucks. Have you thought about this at all? Darko is very young, he has played very little, and he is from a different country. He has not proved yet whether he is good or bad. It was a very smart pick over Carmello I think, because the Pistons would not have won the championship last season if they had picked Mello. I say that because if they had picked Mello, then they would not have been able to get Rasheed Wallace and Rasheed sparked the run to the championship for the Pistons. Darko's time will come, don't worry.
I wonder if anyone remembers the story of Jermaine O'Neal. *Four* years he sat on the bench in Portland learning how to be an NBA player. It paid off dearly, and now he's a force to be reckened with.
Darko showed signs of improvement during the games he got to play in. He started to make players, and he started to look more comfortable. He has the athleticism, but he lacks the toughness and defensive ability needed to gain minutes on this team.
Also, if you truly think he's no good, what are the reasons?
You're right about his defense. It has to improve, but the worst in the NBA? He also has a tendency to get in foul trouble quickly.
Carmelo, yes, and we also know from the Olympics, the guy can't get along with a coach that makes him play a team game. Also look at him under pressure, he can't score.
Wade would have been a nice pickup, but who knew he'd be the player he is today. Also, if he was with the Pistons, I don't think he'd taking Billups job away from him, he'd have a bench role, and might not have developed as quickly. He also wouldn't have Shaq to draw the defenders away from him. Wade is a terrific one on one player, but under a double-team situation he struggles. Miami will be tough in the playoffs.

Yes, I ignored Bosh, I'll address him since you brought it up...
First, he's a Power Forward from Georgia Tech that averaged 15 points per game. While 15 points per game is nice, it wasn't completely dominent for the Pistons to shake up their Roster. Don't forget they already had 3 big men on the bench (Okur, Rebraca, Darko). They also had Corliss at the PF, Ben Wallace in the rotation and Elden Campbell backing up Ben at Center.
Now, why did I bring up all the Centers on the team? Because its painfully obvious to me that they didn't need to take a risk on a PF when they were clearly satisfied at that position. They added guards and centers (even in the Rasheed trade). With Ben able to play PF, Corliss there already, I don't think Bosh was anywhere on their radar.
Also you have to ask yourself, is Bosh worth using a #2 pick for? Sure, as a STARTER he's averaging 15 points per game. He plays 33 mintues per game, that's roughly 1 point every two minutes. If he comes off the bench in Detroit, he would have gotten 20 minutes, and 10 points per game. They saw no where in their future for a new starting PF, so they passed on him like they did Carmelo.
Its not that I discredit Bosh, he's a good player. My point simply is he didn't fit their needs/wants/mold.
Comparing the two at the time of that draft, Darko was worth taking. He has the raw talent and skill to play at a high level. He just isn't mature enough to produce in an NBA game (yet). Darko had pro experience and produced in games overseas.
Bosh had limited time at Ga Tech, not 4 years to prove himself.
That's why Darko was selected so highly and Bosh wasn't.
